At Nissan, the name Patrol began in the early 1950s and refers to the Japanese manufacturer's 4X4 cross-country vehicle. In 1988, the Japanese company released a GR (Grand Raid) version of its Y60, the fourth generation Patrol. This version combines modernity and comfort while retaining its offroad abilities thanks to its new spring suspension. The Patrol GR is a commercial success that is also based on good sporting performances, notably in the Paris-Dakar where it was used by Team Dessoude. The Patrol GR Y60 is still very popular today, especially in the Middle East where it is still used daily. The 5-door version is even longer and more imposing, and is an ideal family vehicle capable of passing any obstacle.
